Who is the piano teacher?
All classes are given by classically trained pianist and piano teacher, Sandra Zovko. She is experienced in both classical, light classical and pop rock, but has chosen to focus on classical / light classical because it is her passion!
Sandra composes both classical and contemporary music and performs regularly with her band Phoenix Lights.
Who are the classes intended for?
Lessons in classical piano at Sandra PianoStudio are intended for children and adults, beginners and advanced as long as you want to learn and develop.
There is no minimum age – everything depends on the child-how far it is in her or his development.
Where are the lessons given?
The lessons are given in Piano studios in Rijswijk (Dr. Kruytstraat) and Rotterdam (Van Den Hoonaardstraat).
Lessons at home are offered in Leiden, Rotterdam North and Rijswijk and only in exceptional cases (such as invalidity). In the latter case, lessons via Skype (online) are also possible.
What do the lessons look like?
The piano lessons are given individually, and in the case of a young child, with parent (s).
Students differ in learning style – everyone is different and learns in a different way, and of course, this is taken into account in class.
Learning by playing, playing by learning!
In addition to playing piano, other aspects of music making are discussed in the lesson, such as musicality, interpretation, composing and interplay.
How long does a lesson take and how often is it recommended to take a lesson?
Minimum length of a private lesson is 30 minutes. It may therefore be 45 minutes or 60 minutes depending on your needs and your study goals.
Beginners are advised to follow the 30-minute lesson.
What are the rates?
For rates, see Rates & Conditions.
How does the subscription / 5-lesson or 10-lesson stamp card (“strippenkaart”) system work?
Sandra Pianostudio works with monthly subscriptions and stamp cards/ “strippenkaarts”.
Subscription means that you book a number of lessons per month in advance (and this may vary by month and frequency). Cancellation is possible at any times under certain conditions. See also Rates & Conditions.
A monthly subscription is handy if you want continuity and want to follow the lesson at the same day/time.
If you want more freedom in chosing a day/time for a lesson OR if you are a less reglar student, you can purchase a stamp card / “Strippenkaart” which is a 5-lessons or 10-lessons card . With this card you need to make a new class appointment with your teacher per week. A stamp card is valid for 6 months after the date of purchase.
Yes! I would like to sign up!
Awesome! 🙂 If you want to register, you can do that by first following a trial lesson. In this way you will get to know the teachers, and you will get an idea of how the lessons are structured. You can also discover if it’s really classical music that you want to learn to play or another music style.
Thus, during the trial lesson, you can decide to continue with the lessons. A trial lesson does not come with obligations to get another lesson 😉
I think it’s more fun when I occasionally follow a lesson online. Would that be OK?
Yes, that’s possible! Especially when you are sick or with a broken leg at home and you want to continue your class. Or if you just practice at home yourself but sometimes need some explanation from someone with more experience. For more info send an email to sandrapianostudio@gmail.com or fill in the contact form and Sandra will contact you.
